Controversial Film Debuts at Ybor Festival of the Moving Image Tampa provided a powerful performance for producers with a veteran cast including actor Gary Busey, Charles Durning and newcomer Cindy Taylor.

Tampa, Fl. - (March 25, 2006) - Tampa-based Film Arts Alliance, LLC and Gulf+Atlantic Films announced today that they will debut the controversial roadside memorial film entitled Descansos at the Ybor Festival of the Moving Image. Descansos (Spanish for resting places), is the story of Ken Sullivan, a man obsessed with the global issue of roadside memorials; hell-bent on tearing down each one he encounters. When a business trip takes Ken to the Isle of Ostara, he meets Grace Fletcher, a mysterious woman determined to preserve a memorial for her late husband. Soon, the erotic dreams that have haunted Ken for years take on a deeper twist as he comes face-to-face with his darkest secrets, and those of Grace. Along the way, Ken learns lessons about life and death from Gary Busey, Charles Durning, and a cast of sexy, insightful ghosts. Descansos also features the talents of former host of WILD-ONE, Cindy Taylor (The Wedding Crashers).

The film features Ybor’s landmark Don Vicente De Ybor Historic Inn as well as scenes shot in rural locations in Riverview and master planned community Fish Hawk Ranch in mid 2005. The producers expressed having a great experience working with public officials with Hillsborough County and the City of Tampa. Executive Producer Eric Polins (currently in Australia) is quoted as saying “The Film Commissioners office in particular Krista Soroka was instrumental in helping us secure permitting and coordinating locations for production. The hospitality was above and beyond our expectations and we look to bring another feature to the Tampa Bay area in 2007.”

Descansos is scheduled to screen at the Hillsborough Community College-Ybor Festival of the Moving Image, Saturday, April 8, 7PM, at the Muvico Theaters in Centro Ybor. You can access the festivals web site for additional information by logging on to (http://www.yborfilmfestival.com/).
